Jacob Hoerner Galleries Presents Andrew Gritscher Altered Beast

Jacob Hoerner Galleries is proud to present Andrew Gritscher's -Altered Beast' at Besser Space, Collingwood from 17 – 26 November.
 
Gritscher's mixed media work sees him use of a wide variety of techniques from spray paint, oil paint, airbrush, ink, acrylic, pencil, oil pastel, pencil, marker pens, charcoal, felt tip pens, quilting thread and socks. Deliberately raw in finish what he achieves with his collaged mixed media works are large scale visual maps that each contain layers of information and ideas encrypted through codified symbols and the placement of motifs he has invented.  Gristcher's constructions are semi-autobiographical in nature and reference his understanding of Chinese medicine that he has studied and continues to practice.
