Innovation Games at Sydney Olympic Park

The #InnovationGames is a FREE family fun day full of hands-on activities, games and demonstrations to be held at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday 20 August 2017, from 11.00am – 3.30pm.

 

Brought together by Sydney Olympic Park Authority and Inspiring Australia as a special National Science Week 2017 event, the Innovation Games at Cathy Freeman Park will be packed-full of fascinating science, sport and technology based activities for all ages.

 

Sydney Olympic Park's town centre will be an interactive zone of live shows, daring demos, crazy creatures and all the latest gadgets. Attendees can learn coding on the fly, get the low down on drones or kick the physics out of a footy.

 

Fans heading out to ANZ Stadium for the NRL's Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs face off against the Manly Sea Eagles are encouraged to arrive early to join in the pre-game activities and sports-related fun including Club- led passing and kicking challenges.

 

Fans can also expect to participate in a range of other physical and mental challenges from boomerang battles to extreme orienteering and feats of fitness to keep brains firing and bodies moving.

 

Families can bring their own devices and join the augmented reality treasure hunt created especially for the event. For those who are more intrigued by the wonders of reality, science guru Dr Karl Kruszelnicki will be on hand to answer all your weird and wacky science questions.

 

For those looking to learn more about science and tech, there will be talks on bio-hacking and drone safety. Or to learn about Indigenous culture the #Murama Indigenous Youth Leaders will teach attendees about spear dynamics, arts and plant use.

 

Fizzics Education will be hosting their super popular live science shows plus the Park will be packed full of other attractions such as jumping castles, outdoor films and chill-out zones or kids can get up close and personal with frogs, bats and reptiles.

 

With a range of cutting edge interactive displays from the likes of Samsung, OneGiantLeap, NRMA, Sydney Sports Incubator, NRMA, Australian Electric Vehicle Association and Australian Museum there will be something to entertain and engage everyone at this a new event in the Sydney Science Festival calendar.
