Director: Lynn-Maree Milburn
Rated: PG
Running Time: 102 minutes

Synopsis: Following sold-out screenings and standing ovations at this year's Melbourne International Film Festival, In Bob We Trust commences a national theatrical release on October 17th in Melbourne exclusively at Cinema Nova with other capital cities to follow.

Written and directed by Lynn-Maree Milburn, In Bob We Trust follows the irreverent philosopher and working class hero Father Bob Maguire. For almost forty years he has fought courageously to protect the poor and disadvantaged, including those who were not Catholics themselves – both through his Church and his own goodwill.

In stark contrast to a Church in retreat behind its clericalism, Father Bob Maguire is dedicated to improving the lives of others. He believes in living the -word'. In Bob We Trust reveals an irreverent, dissident priest loved by the faithful and the secular alike. The enforced retirement of Father Bob as parish priest highlights the hypocrisy of the church and provides the dramatic time bomb to the documentary as Father Bob refuses to give up without a fight. 'Unleash the dogs of war!"

'Father Bob is every documentarian's dream subject," says Lynn-Maree Milburn. 'When we started working on this five years ago, none of us could have predicted the direction this story would take. We were privileged to spend time with this most feisty, intelligent, insightful, hilariously funny, charming, -Scottish' man who challenged us always".

Father Bob is joined on the big screen by many of his fellow travellers from his outreach work and the South Melbourne Parish, and by his long-time collaborator, John Safran, co-host with Father Bob of Triple J's Sunday Night Safran.

In Bob We Trust is produced by GHOST Pictures. Established in 2000 by Lynn-Maree Milburn, Andrew de Groot, and Richard Lowenstein, their collaborations have resulted in some of Australia's most iconic films including Dogs in Space, Memories and Dreams, He Died With a Felafel in His Hand, and Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard.
