For anyone interested in honing their impro skills for:
-Auditions
-Stage work
-Rehearsal techniques
-Improvised work for theatre or television
Workshops will be responsive to participant needs and will cover:
-Impro basics (spontaneity, being present, removing fear)
-Scene work (inspiring your partner, using offers, developing a narrative, playing the moment)
-Character work (discovery through impulse, offers and response)
-Releasing creative blocks (playing the moment with commitment, leaping into the unknown)
The Instructors:
Patti Stiles is in demand worldwide as an improvisation performer and teacher. Her interpretation, and extension of Johnstone's work and philosophy, combined with her wealth of performance experience has made her a "must have" teacher for performers and companies wishing to create spontaneous theatre with fine skill, strong narrative and style. She has taught at Central School of Speech and Drama and RADA in London.
Jenny Lovell has been performing in theatre, film and TV for over 20 years. She has performed, directed and taught impro in Sydney, Melbourne and overseas in USA, Canada and Hong Kong. Television and film appearances include: Prisoner, Picnic At Hanging Rock, and Gallipoli.
Lliam Amor is an actor, writer and illustrator. Currently teaching drama at Deakin University he has had over 15 years experience in the world of improvisation. Television and theatre appearances include: Celebrity Theatresports, Late Night Impro, Thank God You're Here, The Micallef Program, Neighbours, MDA and various TV commercials.
