Interview with Ricci Carr

Question: What inspired you to write I can sing...but where is my voice?

Ricci Carr: In short, my many students who also taught me over the years. People from all walks of life 7years old to 70 years old. They would say things like you outta write a book your methods really work. My response at the time was, I am a singer/songwriter/performer. I cant write books! However, I did make them notes of the things that worked for them to go on with.

Question: What do you hope readers take from I can sing...but where is my voice?

Ricci Carr: I would hope that the reader will gain their own personal bucket list To be able to sing that dream they have in their heart whether it's to sing at a school production, for a family occasion, a best friends wedding, professionals starting out to a grandparent who just wants to sing to their Own grandchildren and know they are doing it right.

Question: How does it feel to have your book accepted into secondary schools online catalogues?

Ricci Carr: This is something I have worked on and dreamed about for so long as I saw so many people come to me who were told to lip-sink by their teachers at school or comments from people around them who told them they couldn't sing. To them it was a dream and a need to sing and they began to hold it inside and lose hope. It made them feel bad about themselves. So for the Education department to select it in their catalogue. Now the people have a choice for themselves. I hope the schools buy it.
