Human Mobile

Melbourne-based artist Felipe Reynolds is set to unveil his latest interactive inflatable creation at Federation Square on Friday 9 September, sparking the imagination of people of all ages.

Human Mobile, commissioned by Fed Square and created by Felipe, combines classic with modern and captures our constant human need for engagement, affirmation, play and novelty. Drawing inspiration from the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's fresco painting -The Creation of Adam' is reimagined in the form of a 3D, 11.3 meter tall by 7.5 metre wide inflatable baby. Suspended from The Atrium ceiling, the baby's posture imitates classical Roman sculpture, whilst at the same time portraying a life of excess in the 21st century.
