Occasionally life throws up too many choices, but there are never too many choices for Don's overactive imagination. But every time he is faced with a big choice, his options are generally terrible.

Don tries, and usually fails, to navigate the basics of life. He manages to mess up even the simplest of tasks. Each episode of How Not To Live Your Life covers a few days in Don's life - as he stumbles his way through a variety of challenges - or indeed just everyday occurrences.

Don (Dan Clark) has moved into his recently deceased grandmother's house. The mortgage payments are in arrears and there's a strange man, Eddie (David Armand), living there who won't leave. Don decided to get a lodger to help with the rent but school teacher Abby (Sinead Moynihan) was Don's teenage sweetheart - and now she has a boyfriend, Karl (Finlay Robertson).
