In celebration of Hollywood Costume, join us for a public program of talks that engage the exciting world of film costume. This series will explore the role of the costume designer, the practical side of designing and the psychology of how a costume can transform a character on screen.
The Emperor's New Clothes 2pm: This talk explores the role of the costume designer in the development of a character for the screen, both physically and psychologically.
Dust, Leather and Masculinity: Dressing Men on Film 2pm: An expert panel dissects how masculinity is defined on the silver screen. How are strong male characters defined through the clothes that they wear? How does fabric and the environment colour our understanding of character?
