German International School Sydney's Careers Night

The German International School Sydney (GISS) is set to host an interactive Careers Night on Saturday 17th September, giving youth a unique insight into careers and pathways to kick-start their future.

The realm of careers, professional work-life and the future can be a daunting prospect for young students. With so many diverse possibilities and potential pathways on offer, trying to work out which career to pursue can be an overwhelming task to tackle.

However, students and parents needn't worry as GISS will address these aspects at the annual German International School Sydney's Careers Night. This interactive event will offer students the opportunity to actively engage with professionals from a wide variety of industries including pilots, musicians, interior designers, entrepreneurs, health professionals, managing directors, politicians and countless others. By engaging with some of the leading professionals of their respective fields, students will gain invaluable advice, information and insights into real experiences undertaken by experts in the field.

Unlike traditional Career Expos, which are primarily information based, the German International School's Careers Night will be an open discussion platform, utilising a Q&A format, allowing students and parents the opportunity to engage and ask questions with the panel of real industry professionals. This format allows students to ask questions and receive relevant, beneficial information that will prove useful for their future. The night will also include a series of smaller one-on-one discussion break-out groups for students to get up close and personal with their chosen expert, and probe further into an industry that may have sparked their interest.

The night is primarily aimed at students in Years 9-12 who want to explore the opportunities and possibilities for their future.  However, this event is open to the all students from the wider community and their families who are warmly welcomed to attend this educational event. Professionals willing to share their individual experience on finding the right career are also invited to attend.
