Aimed at curious and adventurous 9 year olds and upwards, this quirky compilation of poems comes from mother of three, Medyhne Lebachen and is illustrated by Mark Payne. Exploring topics in a light-hearted way and ones that all kids love including food, school days, home life, sport and animals, Hihairyass Poems also explores serious (in a very funny way) subjects like choosing a career.


Medyhne Lebachen is passionate about writing stories, poems, songs and painting. Part of a band, Sonic Remedy, she enjoys working with kids and teaches mediation and positive life skills to both adults and children. It was at University majoring in English and English literature that her love of literature developed.

With over 33 years illustrating, Mark Payne's playful drawings have been seen in many children's books internationally. Recognised as a cartoonist and art director for both film and television in Australia and the UK, he has won various awards in animation in Cannes.
