Women in Super website Strategic moves characterise a career in financial services! I began my career in financial services at 14, practicing my alphabet while filing for $6 an hour. This sparked my interest in financial markets. After completing VCE, I joined Norwich Union as a Client Service Administrator in the superannuation department. After a short while I moved to the investment division and within 2 years was managing a $300m short-dated fixed income portfolio.
After experiencing corporate life for four years I took the opportunity to travel and finish my Economics and Finance degree before rejoining Norwich Investment Management in marketing. I continued in this area after the merger between Norwich Investment Management and Portfolio Partners. This is where I got the opportunity to join the Women In Super Committee that organises the Mothers Day Classic.
As one of a committee that runs Australia's largest charity-focussed fun run and has raised more than $420,000 for breast cancer research, it is truly inspiring to attract 11,000 people in Sydney and Melbourne to an event aimed at increasing the longevity and quality of women's lives.
