Experience A Day In The Life Of A Ski Patroller at Mt Stirling

Mt Stirling, Victoria's leading natural alpine resort, is holding a day for kids who are interested in gaining an insight into the life of a mountain ski patroller.

Held on Sunday 24 August, the Junior Ski Patrol day teaches 8-16 year olds about being safe and having fun in the snow. It is offered free of charge and covers basic first aid training and ski skills, and looks at the daily duties of a ski patroller.

'Mt Stirling is currently experiencing some of the best snow falls it has seen in years, so now's the perfect time for kids to head to the Resort and learn about the alpine environment and the basics of mountain awareness," said Vinnie Antony, Mt Stirling Ski Patrol Team Leader.

The Junior Ski Patrol Day will be held from 10am to 2pm and lunch can be BYO or purchased from the bistro at Telephone Box Junction (TBJ) for $5 per child. Participants will need to have basic ski skills and either supply their own cross country skis and boots for the day, or equipment can be hired at TBJ from Stirling Experience.

'Mt Stirling offers people a really unique mountain experience as it is untouched by development. This day provides children with the opportunity to explore Mt Stirling while learning some really practical and valuable skills, all in a safe and fun environment" said Antony.
