Celebrate the rich and colourful traditions of Chinese New Year and honour the Year of the Rooster from Eureka Skydeck 88, the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere.
Located on the 88th floor of Eureka Tower, 285 metres above sea level, Eureka Skydeck will bring the spirit of this cultural celebration to life with spectacular sky-high views of the city lights, a fiery-looking 1.6 metre-high Rooster lighting installation and a wire display shaped into the number 88.
Other installations include a group of pandas, terracotta warriors and flowers as well as several 3 metre-high palace lanterns displayed on ground level.
From 27 January – 12 February, those who visit Eureka Skydeck during Chinese New Year may find good fortune on the lucky level when they receive a red pocket envelope and with it, a chance to win one of many great prizes including tickets to the Edge experience with photos, tea or coffee and a photo in the Vertigo green screen activation.
Be observant, frank, ambitious and as confident as the Rooster and venture out on to the world's only Edge experience. The Edge is a 3m by 3m transparent glass cube, which slides out from the building, suspending guests above the Melbourne skyline.
Or simply share the joy and prosperity of one of the most important events on the lunar calendar with the entire family on Eureka Skydeck's outdoor terrace.
Having welcomed an increasing number of Chinese visitors – both international and domestic - since Eureka Skydeck's opening in 2007, China is considered the observations deck's top international market. Those who visit the observation deck are offered visitor guides in simplified and traditional Chinese and directional signage in Mandarin.
