Eden Gardens QLD School Holidays

The next generation of green thumbs will ignite their curiosity for the garden world these school holidays by taking part in Eden Gardens Carseldine's gardening workshops. The two hands-on, fun and educational workshops will give children the opportunity to get their hands dirty while learning about the enchantment of plants and gardens.

Backyard Vegies
In this grassroots workshop, kids will learn about backyard vegetables including what to grow and how they can grow their very own at home. They'll have the opportunity to help out in Eden Gardens' vegetable garden and create their own pot of edible plants to take home. This program is suitable for 5 – 12 year olds.
Wednesday 25 September, from 10am – 11.30am

Aussie Plants
Children will uncover the wonder of Australian native plants as they complete the native plant hunt in the gardens, do some craft and pot-up a habitat plant to take home. Suitable for 5 – 12 year olds.
Friday 4 October, from 10am – 11.30am
Cost: $16 per child, per session

Gnome Roam Competition
From now until 28 September, Eden Gardens is encouraging garden lovers of all ages to take part in its annual Gnome Roam Competition. All proceeds are donated to the Youth Outreach Services of the Salvation Army. It's easy to take part. Simply, head to Eden Gardens and adopt a gnome for $5. Take your gnome home and decorate it in the theme of Eden Gardens or Spring. Return your gnome by the 28 September for judging and prizes on 29 September at 2pm.
