Dr Paul Payne Relative at The German International School Sydney

The German International School Sydney will be hosting an eye opening talk at the culture centre next month, focusing on the infamously brilliant scientific notion - the Theory of Relativity.  First coined by Einstein, and studied by countless academics since, the theory is often misunderstood in mainstream knowledge.  With the help of Astronomy communicator, Dr Paul Payne, all will be revealed in a presentation that will question everything we understand about the universe.  Join the German International School Sydney on Tuesday, June 10th from 7pm, for this free opportunity to broaden your mind.

A little over a century ago, Einstein revolutionised the concept of time and space with his Theory of Relativity.  With Einstein's keystone physics principals, Dr Payne can explain how time can flow at different rates depending on how things are moving relative to the subject.  The repercussions of these revelations are not as simple as the explanations, and will leave guests shocked at the misconceptions of relativity.  With the help of visual stimulus and graphics, the Theory of Relativity will be demonstrated step by step throughout the presentation. 

Black Holes will also be explored by Dr Payne, with the theoretical understanding of their existence explained with the help of the Theory of Relativity enlightening their scientific certainty.  Furthermore, the presentation will uncover what Black Holes really are and why they are black, all divulged with the help of the relative nature of time.

Dr Paul Payne is not only a scientist, academic, educator and mentor; he is also an Astronomer, having worked at the Sydney Observatory throughout his working career since 1984.  An accomplished scientist with First Class Honors, and a PhD in the Development of the Servo Control System for the Automated Patrol Telescope, there is little Dr Payne doesn't know when it comes to the study of Astronomy.  With a career entrenched in international observatories and teaching roles, Dr Payne is not new to studying or presenting these fascinating notions to captive audiences.
