Dogs Tales – the aptly named storytelling night at St Kilda's iconic Dogs Bar - has been a haven for emerging and well-established writers to spin their yarns before a captive audience, and now it's moving to Tuesday nights (formerly Thursday nights) after its special edition at the Melbourne Writers Festival, where it will feature at the Toff In Town.
Ezra Bix and Marieke Hardy are featured writers this Thursday, August 19th, and then as of September 7th from 8pm, you can come along to Dogs' Bar every Tuesday night and discover some of Melbourne's finest up and coming writers take the mic to deliver their most engaging tales before the better-known scribes are introduced for the second half of the show.
Kicking off the new time slot will be Jenny Sinclair, who has just released a new book, When We Think About Melbourne and actor Felix Nobis.
The stellar line-up for September includes author Catherine Harris (September 14th), actor/comedian and first-time authors Bob Franklin & Jon Bauer (September 21st), each of whom have new books hitting the shelves. Art Monthly writer Chris Raja and poet Andy Jackson take the stage on September 28th.
