The Design Hotels™ Made by Originals campaign has been awarded as the 'Best Marketing Campaign 2010" by the German association Travel Industry Club. Design Hotels™ beat 35 renowned companies from the German travel industry to win the award. The Made by Originals campaign includes multimedia film clips, The Design Hotels™ Book 2010 and an extensive poster campaign in Berlin.
The jury says: 'All members of Design Hotels™ have one thing in common: they target travelers with high standards who consider the choice of their hotels as part of their personality and who want to be with like-minded people. This is the focus for the Made by Originals campaign. It portrays personalities who had the inspiration to create and realise hotels. In sum: People with personality who create hotels with personality. The hotels are therefore the perfect place to stay for the above mentioned individuals. However, the campaign is not only well designed. From the billboards to the digital media, it never looks like an ordinary hotel campaign".
Made by Originals puts the spotlight on the creative minds behind the member hotels, such as the French hotelier Shahé Kalaidjian and designer Christophe Pillet of Hotel Sezz in Paris and Hotel Sezz Saint-Tropez; Mark Edleson of the Asian Alila Hotels & Resorts and the British interior designer Kit Kemp. These individuals give an insight into their hotels and present themselves as a true Original: authentic, responsible and creative.
