MOZART'S SISTER tells the little-known story of Mozart's sister, Nannerl, a gifted musical prodigy, who along with her younger brother, Wolfgang, performed for the crowned heads of Europe from an early age. But as her brother's overwhelming talent emerged, Nannerl was relegated to a supporting role, particularly because she was 'only' a girl - and subsequently her talent was ignored and left to founder.

Writer/Director René Féret is one of France's leading writer/actor/directors and established his own production company - JLM Productions - in the 90s. He's directed around 15 films over the last two decades and has starred in a great many too. He has a cameo role as a music professor in MOZART'S SISTER and his two daughters, Marie and Lisa, also star in the film - Marie as "Nannerl", and Lisa as her friend, the French princes, "Louise de France" - so the film is very much a family affair!
