The Killer's Wife

The Killer's Wife

This is a gripping thriller about a woman who discovers her husband is a serial killer.... and that, even after he is sentenced to death and jailed, the evil he has unleashed will not leave her alone.

Six years after her ex-husband Randy is sentenced to death for a series of gruesome murders, Leigh Wren has almost succeeded in putting her past to rest. But the new life she has created for herself and her young son - complete with convincing pseudonyms that have their new neighbours utterly fooled - is shattered when the father of one of her Randy's victims publicly exposes her past.

As Leigh grapples with memories of her marriage to a man whom she exposed to the world as a deviant serial killer, a more deadly game of cat and mouse begins when a new killer emerges, one whose methods are frighteningly similar to Randy's, who is on death row thousands of miles away. And it seems that Leigh and her son are in the stalker's scope.

Leigh is forced to face up to the mysteries her ex-husband left behind, the danger multiplying as each new revelation brings the threat closer to home. With the clock ticking down and the victims of a new, unknown killer mounting, Leigh must confront the dark corners of her past to save her life and her son's. When the identity of the new killer is finally exposed, the truth is as twisted as it is devastating.

Bill Floyd lives in the US. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University. This is his debut novel.

Meet the author:
"I grew up in a small, rural textile town in the heart of North Carolina, with all the weirdness that entails. I knew backward, opinionated, corrupt hypocrites who wielded great power over their tiny little fishbowl, and I knew big-hearted, intelligent, brave and hilarious kids who were my friends and peers. My early character was forged by alienation and self-righteousness masquerading as an informed world-view. My later character was forged by the mistakes I made when I was young. My life was saved multiple times by my family and friends. I was sometimes pretty good to them in return, and many of them are my closest friends to this day. I was awkward and bookish as a child, then awkward, bookish and completely out of control in my teens. There wasn't much to do in my town besides indulge, drive too fast and fall in love."-Bill Floyd, 2007

"Floyd uses the wife's point of view to give the book a unique perspective, not easy to do in a serial killer book. The novel rocks along and builds to a thrilling ending. Fans of this genre will enjoy this excellent first mystery."-mysteryone.com
