Synopsis: Once the most popular girl at Short Beach High, Denise Dixon (Hilary Caitens) finds her life turned upside-down after a night of terror. Rumours and violent backstabbing about the once popular teen run rife. Centre of attention, Kirsty (Anna Lawrence), rules 'the exclusives", the ultra-cool kids in school, and her mission is to destroy Denise. Kirsty, who will stop at nothing to be the most popular girl in school, ruins Denise's reputation through rumours and constant bullying. Knocked down, can Denise get back up?
In an advanced screening, the topical themes of the film - bullying, social status and sexual assault - resonated with the Aussie audience, with 100% of the tested female audience saying that they enjoyed the film and 93% of them claiming they'd recommend to a friend. Prior to filming, Circle of Lies partnered with Reach Out, Australia's leading online youth mental health service, with the organisation providing key materials throughout the filming process.
Commenting on the film's success, the director Matt Cerwen said "Circle Of Lies explores universal issues like bullying and friendship.
