Chinese New Year celebrations are only nine days away and Lord Mayor Robert Doyle has today encouraged people to come into the city and join the colourful festivities.
The Lord Mayor said 100,000 people were expected in Melbourne next weekend for Chinese New Year, with the City of Melbourne providing more than $75,000 to the Chinese Federation Association for the official celebrations.
