A day at the races is a much loved pastime for many Australians – so it makes sense to spend the Australia Day weekend, and our national day, trackside.
The Murray Bridge Racing Club will host its Australia Day Races on Tuesday, January 26. An ideal family event, kids will love the giant water slide and the young at heart can try an air-brush temporary tattoo.
Punters will no doubt flock to Morphettville on Saturday, January 23, while the Holcim Summer Cup in Mt Gambier on Sunday, January 24, ensures South-East residents don't miss out on the racing action.
Further south, the Kangaroo Island Gourmet Gallop, also on Saturday, January 23, allows visitors and locals alike to sample some of the region's top produce and indulge in a flutter at the same time.
Murray Bridge Racing Club Chairman Reg Nolan said the Australia Day Races was a relaxed affair.
