One of Australia's best loved country singer-songwriters, Catherine Britt, has released the lead single from her anticipated new album and her first to be released through her new independent label, Beverley Hillbilly Records.
"I'm so excited to release new music after crowd-funding my new record with my music supporters and friends and going independent for the first time in my career starting my own record label, Beverley Hillbilly Records", says Catherine.
"I Am A Country Song is a favourite of mine off the new album and I'm so excited to share it with the world after such a strange time in all our lives".
She says the inspiration for "I Am A Country Song" came from a conversation with her best friend in Nashville.
"I asked her when we landed in Nashville for our last US tour, "Have you been listening to the radio? What's new?" She simply replied in her Mississippi drawl, "Oh Honey, I don't need to listen to the radio, I AM a country song".
"It has always stuck with me as such a great idea for a song and I kept it in my list of ideas for years until this album. When I sat down with Gareth Hudson, I told him my idea and the song just fell out of us. We both knew straight away it was a special song that many country fans can relate to".
Catherine also kicks off her Bush Pubs Tour 2020 in Collinsville QLD tonight (Fri 28th August), taking in many bush towns across Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. Special guest for the tour will be the acclaimed Melody Moko.
All shows will abide by each State's Covid rules and regulations. We ask all patrons to follow these and ensure safe social distancing.
