Synopsis: Writer/director/actress Noémie Lvovsky has already received recognition for the film in France when she was presented the Lumiere Special Prize for Camille Rewinds at this year's ceremony in January. Considered the French version of the Golden Globes the event also saw her three co-stars Judith Chemia, Julia Faure and India Hair awarded a joint award for Most Promising Actress.
A strong local crowd pleaser in Cannes, this universal story of love and regret closed the Directors' Fortnight and picked up the Prix SACD before going on to become a box office hit in France. Camille Rewinds will premiere at the 2013 Alliance Film Festival line-up before commencing its theatrical season on May 2nd in Australia.
Noémie Lvovsky stars as Camille, a 40-year-old Parisian drowning her sorrows in booze after splitting up from her former childhood sweetheart Éric (Samir Guesmi). In the depths of her drunken despair, at a snowy New Year's Eve party in 2008, she collapses and in a fairy-tale flashback wakes up in 1985. She is sixteen again, her late mother is still alive, and she is back at school.
This second chance at life and the wisdom of hindsight see Camille try to re-write her own history and resist the advances of her classmate Éric to hopefully save her adult self from future heartbreak. Will she succeed to change her destiny?
