The statue Madonna; the most sainted maria of porto salvo, will visit Sydney Fish Market (SFM) for Blessing of the fleet on Sunday, 11 November 2012.

Commodore and unofficial leader of the local fishing fleet Paul Bagnato said, 'We bless the fleet with the statue Madonna to ensure that the coming year of fishing will be safe and bountiful. Out at sea, it's not always an easy journey. When a storm hits you have to respect the sea and also know that the Madonna will guide you to safety.'

A flotilla of boats from the local Sydney fishing fleet and other areas of NSW will make their way with the statue Madonna around to Blackwattle Bay. During their journey to Blackwattle Bay the flotilla will be sprayed with water to symbolise the blessing.
