When Cin (Susie Porter) and Josh (David Wenham) make each other's acquaintance at a mutual friends party, neither of them could have predicted what was to ensue between them.
Casual chitchat about Josh's recent experiences photographing Meercats for National Geographic is nothing to get overly excited about. But while sharing a taxi ride afterwards, they are both mutually compelled to engage in a lust-driven, meaningless sexual romp together. And...why not? Josh is flying back to London in 3 days, so it will be refreshingly simple - no expectations, no emotional entanglements, and no 'here's my number, give me a call sometime' type nonsense. Neither Cin nor Josh are looking for any complications - just a no-strings attached one-night romp in the hay.
Morning comes and after such a 'terrific' night together, Josh decides to hang around Cin's hip inner Sydney apartment for a bit longer - and again, why not? Both immensely enjoying each other's company, the next day pans out into the next night. The whole carefree regime seems to be going all too idyllically...
It's only when Cin's flirtatious, meddlesome friend Sam bowls over, that the seemingly meaningless sexcapades start to become tainted by some more deep-rooted insecurities. Some sparks fly and the plot unfolds into a cleverly realistic portrayal of a casual fling between two strangers taking a turn. Can these two lovebirds overcome the trials of human weakness and keep things simple?? Surely the perfect one-night stand does exist?
