"The world championships take place in Austria in July each year, and we're strategically better placed with a May event leading into the world champs.
Peter said a change of date will also enable the event to become part of Noosa's May Fiesta calendar, orchestrated by Tourism Noosa.
"The 2010 event will be the third Australian Body Art Carnivale, bringing together cutting-edge artists and designers from far and wide," he said.

The Carnivale is centred around body art in its many and varied forms - from the more readily seen art form of face painting right through to cutting-edge full body painting in the three categories of airbrush, sponge and brush, as well as special effects.

"The event provides a unique opportunity for Australia's top body artists and face painters to compete, and is a springboard for emerging body artists to hone their craft," he said.

"For members of the public, it's phenomenal to watch the human canvases take shape during the competitions," Peter said. "It's all about creative edge, originality, use of colour, and technical expertise."
