Ali Moore to Share Lateline Presenter Role in 2011
Ali Moore will be the new presenter of Lateline next year sharing the presentation role with Tony Jones. Replacing Leigh Sales, Ali will anchor the program on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings in 2011.
Ali has a fine record as a broadcaster. She brings more than 20 years experience in journalism and began her career with the ABC in 1987 where she started in Melbourne at 3LO (now 774 ABC Local Radio). Following five years with the radio news and current affairs team, Ali was appointed the ABC's China Correspondent in 1992, based in Beijing. She was there until 1995 and on her return to Australia worked as the ABC's national Finance Correspondent.
In 1996, Ali moved to Channel 9 to work on Business Sunday as a reporter and then later as host of the program. She spent a decade reporting and subsequently hosting the highly regarded weekly business current affairs program, covering stories everywhere from Japan to London and Slovenia.
Ali returned to the ABC in 2006 to host the new Lateline Business program. Over the last few years she has also filled in for Kerry O'Brien on The 7.30 Report. Since July this year Ali has been presenting Afternoon Live on ABC News 24, anchoring this fast paced afternoon news slot.
Lateline returns on January 31, 2011.
