Seniors' Cinema presents Mr Holmes
Saturday 6 to Monday 15 August
Mr Holmes sees Sir Ian McKellen play one of British literature's most revered characters, Sherlock Holmes. Based on the novel by Mitch Cullin, A Slight Trick Of The Mind, a long-retired Sherlock Holmes lives in a remote Sussex farmhouse tending to his bees, with just a housekeeper Mrs Munro (Laura Linney) and her amateur-sleuthing son, Roger (Milo Parker) for company. Far from living out his twilight years in peaceful retirement, Holmes is haunted by an unsolved case from several decades earlier. With his legendary powers of deduction on the wane, and without his old sidekick Watson, Holmes comes to rely on the quick-witted and endlessly curious Roger.
