ACMI What's On: 27th of August - 2nd of September

Joe
27th of August - 16th of September
$13 - $17

Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage delivers a career best performance as Joe, a ragged, good-hearted, ex-con who runs a small lumber business in rural Texas. Plagued by a short fuse and a past, Joe lives by a strict code of solitude and restraint but when he meets a young drifter, Gary (Tye Sheridan) he is instinctively drawn to help. Gary's father Wade (in a chilling performance by Gary Poulter) is an abusive drunk, dragging his family across country. When Wade falls in with a sleazy local, events accelerate and unhinge the moorings of Joe's existence.
