Gallivanting onto Melbourne's indie scene comes the eastern suburbs' best kept secret, Abbie CW and her enchanting new single 'Different Desire', out now. Abbie's emotionally charged stunner rounds out a trio of eclectic features taken from Tremorverse Records' fast approaching compilation album, Tremorverse Three which the label can finally reveal will be with us Friday 6 August, with pre-orders now available via their Bandcamp.
'Different Desire' followings on from previously lifted Tremorverse tracks 'No Love' by indie producer Alex Garla, and 'New Pair of Eyes' by Melbourne soul's newest recruit Liv McLean. Inspired by the contrasting emotions and experiences that arise as a young woman in an ever-changing world, Abbie CW's single explores the intricacies of identity, relationships and daily life through a light-hearted, honest lens. A siren song of beguiling orchestral folk that nods to the opulence of Weyes Blood with the theatrics of Aldous Harding or Kate Bush, 'Different Desire' is as weightless and uplifting as it is grounding and cathartic.
"'Different Desire' started as a journal entry, observing the process of partners separating and the choices that lead to that. As the song developed, the true feelings I was having came to the surface and every step of the creation process reflected the feelings explored in the song. Thank you to everybody who has been a part of this song with me." – Abbie CW
Tremorverse Three is one of the most refined collections of emerging indie talent that the label has ever curated, promising an inclusive array of artists and genres. From heart-stirring RnB to emotive indie folk, and dance floor bangers to bedroom introspections, listeners are bound to find something that resonates within the compilation's ten diverse tracks. Tremorverse Records' Erin Larkins explains that artist exposure has been the driving force behind the label since its inception; "Working with emerging artists is an inspiring experience, their passion and drive for music guides the vision of every Tremorverse release."
