A Serious Man is a black comedy about one man's quest for clarity on questions of his own faith, home responsibility and mortality by Academy Award® winning director duo Joel and Ethan Coen.

Set in America's mid-west in the late sixties and believed to be semi-autobiographical, A Serious Man follows the life of college physics professor Larry Gopnik. Larry has a good life: excellent health, a solid marriage and the prospect of academic tenure as well as a mortal relationship with his God.

However, Larry's good life slowly begins to unravel when his wife falls in love with one of his colleagues. Larry turns to three rabbis for guidance as he begins to question whether he's been a good man - a 'mensch' - and whether his God is even paying attention.

The Coen brothers bring their famously wicked sense of humour to this everyday tale about a moral man who sees the world inexplicably turn against him in this darkest of Coen brothers' comedies.
