Stanley Street Station celebrates Vivid Sydney (27 May- 21 June) with a menu of colour, and deliciously bright cocktails inspired by Sydney's festival of light, music and ideas. The Station is East Sydney's newest urban playground, eating house and small bar, offering a unique and comfortable platform to look, think, taste and talk, before setting off on all the exciting urban discoveries Vivid, Sydney offers across June.
With a strong local focus and comfy lounge room style bar and dining area, Stanley Street Station gets the mind wandering. Designed by Sydney artist Amy Yongsiri, the Station is based loosely on the concept of psychogeography - the arty notion of jolting pedestrians off predictable paths, hopefully resulting in new awareness's of the urban landscape.
The bar and eatery is an evolving place space within the 'functional' city dedicated to continual exploration, leisure, and stimulated ambience. Uncover the well stocked psychogeography library, and shelves packed with favourite games and amusements; tiny living scenes of citizens in glass terrariums; interpretive views of Sydney through artists' eyes; miniature transport themed 'accident' scenes; digital montages of memorable railway cinema moments; and a range of maps to inspire psycho-travellers.
