Motorcycling Australia (MA) and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) are pleased to invite Road Racing/Speedway and Dirt Track riders to apply for the 2013 AIS Elite Rider Training Camp, which will take place at the AIS in Canberra from Monday 25th – Friday 29th November 2013.
The camp will run over five days and will incorporate fitness testing, physical conditioning, AIS lectures on general sports science (i.e. nutrition, sports psychology, physiology, strength and conditioning etc) and motorcycling specific training where participants will receive personalised tuition from some of Australia's leading coaches. Participants will be required to personally supply and transport their own motorcycle(s) for use during the camp.
The 2013 AIS Elite Training Camp will also introduce special guests as part of the program. These guests will take a hands on role with the development of young riders by sharing their experience of being involved in professional environment and the challenges young riders face when embarking on a professional career.
During the Training Camp, the special guests will step up as a mentor to young to help them in their continued development within the sport and they will play a role with the technical coaching in on-bike riding sessions.
If the camp is oversubscribed, MA will take recommendations from its Commissions, Coaching Committee and other relevant personnel. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via mail.
