The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) announced next year's Royal Melbourne Show will be held from Saturday 18 September to Tuesday 28 September at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

Traditionally beginning the Thursday prior to school holidays, the scheduling of next year's event has been moved to encompass the second week of the school holidays, making it even more accessible for a greater number of young families to attend.

Held since 1884, the Royal Melbourne Show is Victoria's most popular annual community event, bringing the best of the country to the city to provide a range of unique and memorable experiences to enjoy with family and friends.

Attracting an average of 500,000 people each year to the Melbourne Showgrounds, the 'must-attend' event features a variety of fun interactive educational activities and great family entertainment that includes animals and agriculture, art, craft, food, wine, carnival rides, showbags, spectacular fireworks and much more.

As well as showcasing the best of rural Victoria, the Show includes a variety of agricultural competitions and demonstrations, with everything from dog judging and woodchopping to the prestigious Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout.
