Through his though provoking responses we witness the depth of wisdom of this extraordinary spiritual leader as well as gain an insight into the humor and personality that has sustained the Dalia Lama for 68 years from the age of 4, as Tibetan leader- 49 of those years in exile from his homeland and people. Footage is also included of the Dalai Lama's many journeys throughout the world during which he often spontaneously breaks rank with traditions hugging well-wishers and informally joking with many of the world's leaders as if they were his boyhood friends.

Footage supplied by individuals who at great personal risk, filmed with hidden cameras within Tibet is also included.
